Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture is here, and it really is everything we have been waiting for.
This game is the story based cinematic exploration game developed by The Chinese Room and Sony Santa Monica Studios. Your hand is never held and you have to figure out things for yourself, and it’s a spiritual successor to Dear Esther. The game is set in a large beautiful open world, and it’s the end of the world, it’s the rapture, everybody has vanished and its up to you to try and figure things out on your own. Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture is really intriguing and the graphics are beautiful, If you want to see stunning visuals and play a interesting game in a apocalytic Sci-Fi setting, then this is for you. This game really shows off the PS4’s capabilities, and really is stunningly detailed, the graphics are gorgeous and it’s imaginatively brilliant. Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture revolves around different characters, each has different worlds and the actions you take influence the outcome of the story. The most dazzlingly beautiful environments truly capture the inspiration behind the concept of the story, developers were truly inspired by British apocalyptic science fiction of the 60’s and 70’s, like John Christopher’s The Death of Grass and A Wrinkle in the skin, Charles Eric Maine’s The tide went out and John Wynhams The Day of the Triffids. Differing form its predecessor in gameplay and you can interact with the environment much more by manipulating objects, opening doors etc. Exploration and influencing the story, manipulating events during the game are a particular stand out in this title. Amongst highly detailed graphics this game Truly is a stand out game in PS4’s development as a console and really shows off its power. 5 stars
